Turn Down the Volume
Discussing the nature of God can sometimes be
an overwhelming subject.  Here’s a light hearted story that shows how to ‘turn down the volume’ on the
discussion of 'God'.
The idea borrows a technique used by
salespeople - the '30 second' pitch.  There are times when the ‘decision maker’ will cancel your planned
meeting and all the time you have to make a pitch about your service (and to get a 2nd meeting) is the '30 second'
elevator ride.

The ’30 second’ talk about God

Believer: “Do you believe in God?”
Atheist: “No way, you’re delusional if you
think so.”
Agnostic: “God is unknowable, I just don’t know.”
Turn down the volume one
      notch.
Believer:  “Ok, fine.  Do you believe
in Angels?”
Atheist: “Believing in Angels is like believing
in the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny.”
Agnostic: “I don’t believe in anything.  I don’t know if there is something
there.”
Turn down the volume one more
      notch.
Believer: “Ok". “Do believe in at least
being good?”
